Air Duct Cleaning
Your air ducts are the circulation system of your HVAC and inevitably they pick up dust and grime as the system works. There are plenty of operators out there who like to stress the risk that poses in terms of allergens and so. We're not doctors, we're HVAC specialists and all we know for sure is that whether or not dirty ducts promote an unhealthy house the simple fact is that allowing grime to build up on any pump system will eventually degrade its performance and that means increased power bills. So we definitely recommend it.
How To Tell It's Time There are plenty of sharp operators who will tell you that you need to clean your air ducts right now but we always say that the best way to tell is to check it yourself then decide. Take a look at the filters and see if they've got dust and dirt accumulating. If they have then the system is probably in need of a clean. Take a peek down the return grills and the supply ducts. If you can see debris in the duct or there is mold growing on the sheet metal then it's time to get your air ducts cleaned because after a while the system will end up blowing dust and mold spores into your living areas. There is no recommended frequency of cleaning air ducts so the general rule is that they need cleaning if they're looking dirty – otherwise they'll be fine. That's presuming that your HVAC system doesn't involve a fuel burning stove, furnace, or fireplace. Fuel Burners If you do have a fuel burning stove, furnace, or fireplace then the EPA has rulings about how often your HVAC systems need to be checked for carbon monoxide leaks as these are dangerous and potentially lethal if there is a build up of the gas. This should be done before each winter; before you start to use the heating in earnest again. Talk to us about carbon monoxide testing and furnace duct cleaning. How We Clean First up we inspect your air ducts then we hook up a powerful filtered vacuum system to your ducts which extracts dust and debris directly out into our truck. We don't just rely on vacuum affect though as ducts have niches and go round bends so we use tools to brush the inside of ducts as we suck away any dirt that we dislodge. That way you can be sure that not only do we get it off the inside of your duct but we also ensure that we get it right out of your house. Finally we clean the vents themselves and the filters so that the whole system can 'breathe' properly and work at peak efficiency. How Do You Know It's Clean Simple, before we go we'll be happy to show you what we sucked out of your ducts. You might be just a little grossed out by what comes out sometimes but the flip side is that you can be happy to wave goodbye to it as we drive it away. |
